Sensational Summers, Lifelong Memories,
and a Family Tradition
The entire Pinewood team has been delighted to receive thousands of calls and letters from campers, parents and alumni expressing how much their camp experience has meant to them, and that Camp Pinewood has given their families a tremendous sense of joy and fulfillment.

We remain steadfastly dedicated to a single outcome….providing your child with a positive, formative summer camp experience that will enrich their lives.

This is our family tradition.
The Levine Family
Established by Marty and Tina Levine in 1967, Camp Pinewood has provided thousands of children with fun-filled summers and lifetime memories. From the beginning, it was Marty and Tina’s vision to provide a safe and wholesome environment where children can grow and develop self-reliance, learn new skills and form lasting friendships. Having been campers beginning at age six and later as owner-operators, their two sons, Ron and Jack, have been a part of Pinewood for more than 50 years .Today, although no longer actively involved, they enjoy engaging with campers and staff alike…and offering support when needed. Ron’s wife, Kim Levine, continues to lend her many years of camp experience to that of camper welfare. She works directly with the camp directors helping to ensure that each and every camper is well cared for. In 2014, Jack’s wife, Chris, lost her battle with cancer. She is remembered by thousands of Pinewood families and staff members for her charming personality and for her devotion to the welfare of each camper. Chris is dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. Ron and Kim have two daughters, Ashley and Kelley. Jack and Chris have a son and a daughter, Zachary and Gracie. Over the years all of the Levine children have participated in the camp program as campers, staff members or both.
Chris Coloson & Sue Lyons
Longtime directors, Chris Coloson and Sue Lyons, are now at the helm of Camp Operations. As part of the Pinewood family for a combined total of over 50 years, their roles have steadily transitioned to ownership of business operations in 2016. Chris and Sue are dedicated to the Levine’s original vision and are deeply committed to the well-being of all campers. Nothing is more gratifying to them than to see a child experience happiness and to become more independent and self-assured during their stay at Camp Pinewood.

Sue earned a business degree at Seton Hall University and as a south Florida resident for 14 years, she owned and operated the Little Gym of Wellington. Sue and her family have lived in Hendersonville since 2003.
